There are days when there’s too much cluttering my mind.
I can’t see you in the chaos,
but that doesn’t mean you’re not there.
If I tune out all the noise and fix my thoughts on you,
I find peace. If I choose to let go, and let you, I find rest.
Thank you for your word, Lord:
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27
I can’t remember the exact wording, but I once heard that if you feel anxious, you are probably focused on the future; if you experience sadness, you are likely living in the past; but if you live for the present moment, you’ll find peace.
Those words remind me of another verse: “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.” Matthew 6:34
Find peace and rest in Him. Choose to let go.
Choose to be present in the present.
